What does Extended Producer Responsibility mean for the textile industry?
In future, all member states will be obliged to introduce a system that requires manufacturers, importers, and distributors of textiles, for example, to
- bear the costs of collecting, transporting, sorting, preparation for re-use, recycling and other recovery operations and disposal, and
- contribute to the durability, reparability, and recyclability of textile products through their product design.
