Vanessa Homann, LL.M.

Vanessa Homann, LL.M., joined the Düsseldorf office of FRANSSEN NUSSER as a lawyer in October 2022. She specialises in environmental law, particularly waste, soil protection and water management law, as well as mining and nuclear law. In these areas, her legal work includes advising private and municipal companies as well as government agencies.

Career and areas of expertise

Vanessa Homann studied law in Osnabrück and Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth). After passing her first state examination, she obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Natural Resources Law and International Environmental Law from the University of Iceland in Reykjavík in 2020. Vanessa Homann completed her legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Düsseldorf, including placements at the Ministry of the Environment of North Rhine-Westphalia and at an internationally oriented commercial law boutique in Vilnius and Riga. She has been working as a lawyer since October 2022.

Vanessa Homann primarily advises and supports companies, local authorities and public authorities on all issues relating to waste, soil protection and water management law, nuclear and radiation protection law, and mining law. This includes, in particular, circular economy projects and the requirements for waste management activities and plant types. In the field of mining law, she supports private and municipal companies as well as federal and state authorities; in the field of nuclear law, she primarily advises federal and state authorities.
