Circular economy

Legislation & standardisation

The development of the economy towards a circular economy will be driven forward intensively by legal regulation.

Instruments include product regulations governing the manufacture of recycling-friendly products, specifications of product responsibility under waste law (e.g. a distribution-related duty of care or binding requirements for the use of recycled materials in new products) or classic waste law instruments such as return systems and obligations. The quality requirements for recycled items, materials and substances will be laid down in corresponding standardisation documents.

We advise manufacturers and distributors, waste disposal and recycling companies, and trade associations on the further development of legislation and standardisation to promote the circular economy.

Please refer to our client information on current developments in legislation and standardisation in the field of the circular economy.
