Monika Menz

Monika Menz joined FRANSSEN NUSSER as counsel in 2023. She has been practising law in the field of information technology law since 2007. She is a specialist lawyer for information technology law and is certified as both a CIPP/E and a TÜV data protection officer.

About Monika Menz

Monika Menz has many years of professional experience in information technology law, which she has gained in a variety of working environments. With legally sound advice, complemented by business and process-oriented components, she supports her clients in successfully navigating digitalisation and positioning their digital products and services in a legally compliant manner. She also assists her clients in disputes and crisis situations (such as data protection violations, IT security incidents, etc.).

Career and range of services

Monika Menz studied law in Münster and Paris. She then completed her legal training in Düsseldorf, during which she participated in the France programme of the Ministry of Justice of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. After her legal training, Mrs. Menz worked as a research assistant at the Erich Pommer Institute for Media Law and Media Economics at the University of Potsdam.

Monika Menz provides both advisory and litigation services in the field of information technology law. Her specific areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, data protection law, IT security law, complex IT contracts, software copyright law, regulations governing the use of artificial intelligence and the requirements for the use of networked products (the Internet of Things). She advises both international corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises. In doing so, she supports those who are just starting out on their digitalisation journey as well as those who, like many start-ups, have digitalisation in their DNA but still need support in professionalising their compliance. Monika Menz is a regular speaker at relevant specialist and training events and publishes regularly in commentaries and specialist journals.
