Mirjam Büsch, lic. en droit

Mirjam Büsch has been working as a lawyer at the Düsseldorf office of FRANSSEN NUSSER since March 2024. She specialises in environmental law, particularly waste, emissions and climate protection law. In these areas, her legal work includes advising private and municipal companies as well as government agencies.

Career and areas of expertise

Mirjam Büsch studied law in Düsseldorf and Cergy-Pontoise. As part of her studies, she completed the integrated German-French degree programme with a licence intégrée en droit. Mirjam Büsch completed her legal training at the Regional Court of Düsseldorf, with placements at the German Embassy in Wellington and at a large German law firm specialising in public commercial law. During her legal training, she worked at the University of Bonn at the Chair of German and European Constitutional and Administrative Law under Prof. Dr. Heiko Sauer. From the end of 2017 to 2021, she worked as a lawyer in a large international law firm specialising in public commercial law, where she handled administrative and administrative litigation proceedings in construction and environmental law, among other things. At the beginning of 2021, she joined the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Economic Affairs as a policy officer for climate protection law and emissions trading. She has been working as a lawyer for FRANSSEN NUSSER since the beginning of 2024.

Mirjam Büsch primarily advises and supports companies, municipalities and public authorities on all issues relating to environmental and environmental economic law. This includes, in particular, the requirements for waste management activities, including in the area of poly- and perfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) and cross-border waste shipments, as well as issues relating to emissions trading and climate protection law, including environmentally oriented procurement.
