He advises corporations and internationally active medium-sized companies as well as the institutional real estate industry. Dr. Nusser sees himself as a legal management consultant. He regularly publishes articles in his fields of expertise and is involved in numerous trade associations.

The ‘JUVE Handbook of Commercial Law Firms 2018/2019’ lists Dr. Nusser as a ‘highly competent and creative lawyer,’ while the 2020/2021 edition describes him as a lawyer ‘with comprehensive knowledge and a strong practical focus’ in the categories ‘Environmental and Planning Law’ and ‘Product-Related Environmental Law’ and as a ‘leading advisor in environmental and planning law’ under the age of 50.

Career and areas of expertise

Dr. Jens Nusser studied law at the Free University of Berlin and the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg im Breisgau. He obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a focus on environmental law in 2004 from the University of London and received his doctorate in 2006 from Prof. Dr. Philip Kunig, also on an environmental law topic, at the Free University of Berlin. He has been admitted to the bar since 2005 and specialises in product safety and environmental law, contaminated site management and public real estate law.

Dr. Nusser advises manufacturers and importers of products, in particular construction products, machinery, PPE, electrical and electronic equipment, medical devices, biocides, cosmetics and consumer products on all issues relating to legally compliant market access and product liability. He supports numerous DAX-listed companies and real estate companies in the remediation of contaminated sites and the comprehensive legal and organisational implementation of operator responsibility, as well as on issues of due diligence in the supply chain.
